You know it's a rough world when missionaries are facing the gunpoint of the very people they wanted to render help to. You know it's a rough world when lives are being used as pawns of a chess game, the eternal stalemate that is insurgents vs governments.

I'm not so much praying for the 22 remaining Korean hostages as I am for the state of the world, because it's quite, quite sad. The war that Islam rages against Christianity has snowballed to such gigantic proportions I can scarcely believe it. What started out as a war against America evolved to become a war against anybody who is not Muslim, and now, is a war even against fellow Muslims who express support for the United States of America.

Islam, like any other religion, is peaceful by nature. I suppose the violence is a response to the oppression they face. It's a chicken and egg situation here, but the violence will intensify for as long as the pressure is on. Oppression stirs up confusion in an everyday Muslim, and confusion is the breeding ground for the wayward teachings of Islam. Amidst the confusion, Islamic militanism shines like a beacon of direction, and before you know it, yet another insurgent is born. So, for how long more shall we keep shooting ourselves in the foot?

Dear God, I pray for world peace. Amen.
